Heaven's Door Tennessee Double Barrel 70cl.

Heaven's Door Tennessee Double Barrel 70cl.

Heaven's Door Straight Rye is one of the most premium and complex expressions of the Heaven's Door range. Its name comes from its key process: maturation in two types of barrels, which intensifies the character of the whiskey.

The brand takes its name from the song "Knockin' on Heaven's door" and the bottles incorporate designs inspired by metal sculptures created by Bob Dylan.

The label has a very special artistic meaning because it reproduces a real work by Bob Dylan, a wrought iron door created by him himself in his Black Buffalo Ironworks workshop.

The doors represent the idea of transition, travel and freedom, concepts very present in Dylan's artistic and musical work.

Winemaking

Heaven's double barrel is based on a double wood maturation process, which is what defines its style and complexity.

It is based on an American bourbon whiskey, with a minimum of 51% corn and aged in new charred American oak barrels.

The first aging is initially carried out in new American oak barrels for several years and develops vanilla, caramel, honey and soft toasted wood, this is the "skeleton" of the whiskey. In the second maturation, the whiskey is transferred to a second selected oak barrel that is more intensely toasted, re-charred or re-toasted. This process provides more aromatic depth, darker notes and greater roundness in the mouth. No massive filtration to maintain texture and natural oils.

Tasting notes

View :

deep amber with a tendency to dark copper. Bright and clean, with golden and reddish reflections against the light.

Nose:

Aromas of creamy vanilla, dark caramel and toffee. Intense toasted oak and hints of cocoa and toasted nuts.

Mouth:

Smooth entry but with more body than standard bourbon. Flavors of toasted caramel, enveloping vanilla, light coffee and cocoa. Long, warm finish with persistence of toasted oak, light elegant bitterness and a dry sensation.
