CHÂTEAU MOUTON ROTHSCHILD 2015
Château Mouton Rothschild is a wine estate located in the village of Pauillac in the Mèdoc, 50 km northwest of the city of Bordeaux. Its red wine, which bears the same name, is considered one of the best red wines in the world. It was originally known as Château Brane-Mouton and was renamed by Nathaniel de Rothschild in 1853 giving it the name of Château Mouton Rothschild.
Château Mouton Rothschild was the last to join the prestigious list of 1er Cru de Pauillac. It has been the winery that invented the label-work of art, looking for a different artist for each vintage.
The Château's own description confirms its "extraordinary balance" and its exceptional persistence. One of the best Pauillacs on the Left Bank of 2015.

The year 2015 was particularly dry from February to July, that is, from budding to veraison, affecting the size of the berries. The significant rainfall recorded in August and September was beneficial for the vineyard, already affected by water stress, ensuring optimal ripeness of the grapes. In search of a perfectly ripe harvest, the harvest was exceptionally long, from September 14 to October 2, 2015.
Château Mouton Rothschild is a Pauillac wine from an 82-hectare vineyard located northwest of Bordeaux, in the Médoc. The vines, with an average age of 50 years, are planted in stony gravel soils that capture heat and release it at night, thus promoting the ripening of the grapes. These draining soils rest on a subsoil of clay and gravel, giving Château Mouton Rothschild wines a unique power, elegance and tannic structure
Tasting notes
View:
Dark and intense color with violet hues.
Nose:
On the nose, refined aromas of wild blackberry and blueberry are appreciated, which evolve into notes of toast, licorice and blonde tobacco.
Mouth:
On the palate, it is fresh and full-bodied, with soft and creamy tannins that surround a silky texture enhanced by an elegant minerality. Rich in ripe fruit and spicy spices, with an exceptionally long finish. The winery itself describes it as “extraordinarily balanced.”
Food pairing
Fabulous to share with roast lamb, confit duck and a dark chocolate fondant.
