Tenjaku Japanese Pure Malt 70cl. Case

Tenjaku Japanese Pure Malt 70cl. Case

Tenjaku Japanese Pure Malt is a Japanese whiskey made only with single malt whiskeys, without grain. The brand states that Tenjaku is born in the city of Fuefuki, in the Yamanashi prefecture, a region famous for its vineyards, peach trees and for being close to Mount Fuji. The officially listed master blender is Kenji Watanabe, with extensive experience in wine and whiskey.

It is not intended to compete with high-end Japanese whiskeys, but rather to offer a more affordable option for those new to Japanese whiskey.

Winemaking

Its process begins with a fermentation of malted barley and a double distillation in copper stills. Groundwater from the Misaka mountain range in the Mount Fuji basin is used to reduce the alcohol before bottling. This water, filtered for centuries by volcanic rock, is one of the elements that the brand highlights as part of its identity.

Maturation takes place mainly in highly toasted Kentucky bourbon barrels, for approximately 5 to 6 years for most of the malts that make up the blend. These barrels provide notes of vanilla, caramel and coconut, in addition to softening the character of the distillate.
