Segura Viudas Torre Galimany is a Gran Reserva cava that is pleasant and harmonious. The hints of nuts and soft toast give it a great character, being ideal to harmonize with smoked foods such as salmon and herring and it is an indispensable companion to foie gras, barbecued meats and cheeses of great expression such as Roquefort, since it has enough structure to balance the intense flavors.

PREPARATION

Grapes: Macabeo, Xarel·lo and Parellada.

The blend of Segura Viudas Torre Galimany includes two Xarel·lo wines, one Macabeo and one Parellada. One of the Xarel·lo wines is fermented in oak barrels and remains there for 5 months. The other Xarel·lo wine is fermented in a stainless steel tank where it remains in contact with its lees for 5 months. Both the Macabeo and Parellada wines ferment in stainless steel tanks, and remain in contact with the fermentation lees for several months to increase their complexity and structure. The first and second fermentation is carried out with our own selected yeasts. In order to appreciate the multiple nuances of the barrel and the base wines, this cava does not contain any expedition liquor nor is sugar added. It is therefore a Brut Nature, aged in the bottle for at least 30 months.

TASTING

View: Pale and bright straw yellow color. Fine bubbles that slowly evolve to the surface of the glass where they form beautiful and attractive bouquets.

 

Nose: On the nose, fruit predominates over wood. Aromas of tropical fruit (pineapple) and white flowers appear on a spicy background (vanilla and coconut) provided by the fermentation and aging of the Xarel·lo in new barrels.

 

Mouth: Tasty entry into the mouth, long acidity that lingers in the mouth in a pleasant and harmonious way, with a good presence of fruit and an integrated and creamy carbonic acid.
