Description
PREPARATION
Saint James Vieux is a blend of rums aged in 200 liter oak barrels for 3 years at the Saint James distillery, in Martinique.
Martinique is the only French overseas department that benefits from an A.O.C. for its rum. This designation obtained in 1996 reflects the unique character of “agricole” rum from Martinique, expressing the close link between production, terroir and generations of skill and knowledge. Saint James rum is produced by fermenting pure cane juice followed by distillation in Creole columns. This method, recognized as A.O.C Martinique rum, gives Saint James rums a multitude of aromas, with subtle fruity bouquets perfectly adapted to aging in oak barrels. No sweetening agents are allowed.
