Description

PREPARATION

Saint James Vieux 12 Years is made in Sainte-Marie (Martinique) by Saint-James, the oldest brand of Martinican rum. Aging for 12 years gives this high-end rum a notable intensity and finesse.
Martinique is the only French overseas department that benefits from an A.O.C. for its rum. This designation obtained in 1996 reflects the unique character of “agricole” rum from Martinique, expressing the close link between production, terroir and generations of skill and knowledge. Saint James rum is produced by fermenting pure juice from sugar cane, grown locally and harvested from February to early summer, followed by distillation in creole columns. This method, recognized as A.O.C Martinique rum, gives Saint James rums a multitude of aromas, with subtle fruity bouquets perfectly adapted to aging in oak barrels. No sweetening agents are allowed.
