PREPARATION

Grapes: 91% Tempranillo, 5% Grenache, 4% Graciano.

Roda Reserva is a meticulously pampered wine that comes from a magnificent vintage in terms of quality and low production. In its varietal composition, Tempranillo (91%) is complemented by a touch of Grenache and Graciano. The grapes come from vines that are more than 30 years old, mostly planted in Haro and surrounding towns. They are strains with very low yields: 1.5 kg/vine, which produce high quality fruits. Alcoholic fermentation took place in French oak vats, followed by malolactic fermentation in French barrels. It was aged for 14 months in French barrels (40% new and 60% second use) and a further 30 months in the bottle before going on the market.

It is deep and intense, with a high layer, with a dark red color and red trim.  

Nose:

There is a lot of intensity, depth and complexity on the nose. The very ripe fruit stands out, with red and black profiles, combining between cherry and black plum. The subtle wood notes enhance the fruits, leaving very fine details. Sweet spices appear in the range of cloves and cinnamon and in the background mineral sensations of limestone earth are appreciated.  

Mouth:

It has a lot of volume, with greater presence than usual in RODA, as befits a vintage as complete as this one. The fruity sensation is composed of black and red fruits, ripened at their peak of seasoning. The depth and complexity is noticeable, armed by a bouquet of aromatic plants along with soft notes of noble woods and the sensation of limestone earth and rain. The tannin, which is now present, is of very good quality and marks an excellent structure. In the mouth it is very long and full of sensations.
