Description

PREPARATION

Grapes: Xarel·lo Vermell, Bastard Negre and Sumoll.

The harvest is done manually. The clusters enter the winery by gravity and pass through a press at very low pressure. After static settling at low temperatures, vinification and the first fermentation begin, in tanks for a period of 9-15 days, each variety and each plot separately. Once the blend is made, it is bottled to begin the second fermentation. The sparkling wine Raventós i Blanc Textures de Pedra 2016 rests for a minimum of 48 months in the bottle before going on the market. Expedition liquor is not added. Textures de Pedra gets its name from the vineyard it comes from, the Vinya Més Alta, located at the top of Turó del Serral, the highest altitude of the estate, where the soils show a stony texture. The geology of these plots means that the roots of the vines have to go to much deeper layers to search for water (they are cooler soils), and this provides a grape that favors the production of more concentrated wines, with more structure.

TASTING

View: Bright ocher yellow color with light golden reflections, it forms persistent rosaries of fine bubbles.

 

Nose: Frank and clean aromas, of good intensity. Fresh fruity notes with prominent citrus and hints of ripe red fruit intermixed with herbaceous and creamy hints of the lees, with an elegant mineral background and hints of toasted nuts.

 

Mouth: A sweet and intense journey, it is expressed with a little more complexity than in the olfactory phase, with surprising saline points and more presence of the aging notes. Very good acidity that accompanies a long finish that invites more.

 

Recommended temperature: 7-9º C.
