PREPARATION
Grapes: Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.
La Grande Dame is made from grapes manually selected from a blend of 6 Crus. Natural yeasts are added to the musts clarified in the stainless steel barrels at a constant temperature of 16ºC for eight to ten days. It is aged in bottles for a minimum of 7 years and at temperatures between 10 and 12ºC. It has an aging potential of more than 20 years. La Grande Dame is a tribute to Madame Clicquot and the creative and elegant souls who have followed in her footsteps. It is a wine to reflect the image of La Grande Dame. Madame Clicquot displayed her determination, intuition and vision when choosing and acquiring exceptional land to make the best wines with excellent grapes.
TASTING
View: Golden and luminous reflections.
Nose: Its initial aroma shows a strong, vaporous and delicate attack. Once opened, the wine presents notes of nuts and dried fruit (almonds, figs, apricots), ripe white fruit (pears) and, finally, subtle toasted notes of hazelnut and praline. The sweet notes generate a perfect balance with the freshness and precision of the mixture.
Mouth: In the mouth, the attack is strong and clear. La Grande Dame 2008 has a silky and fruity texture thanks to citrus and red fruit notes. Pinot Noir stands out extraordinarily for its freshness, its minerality and its strength. La Grande Dame 2008 represents the perfect balance between complexity, structure and strength. These characteristics come together to form the elegant balance between freshness and structure, enhanced thanks to a perfect dosage (6 g/l), matching the potential of this vintage.
Recommended temperature: 10-12ºC.
