Amrut Distilleries is one of India's most influential whisky distilleries and was a pioneer in demonstrating that the country could produce world-class single malts.

Founded in 1948 in Bangaluru (formerly Bangalore), for decades it primarily produced brandy, rum, vodka, and whiskeys for the Indian market. In 2004, it launched its first single malt internationally, becoming the first Indian distillery to market this style globally.

Amrut helped change the perception of Indian whisky. Its Amrut Fusion was ranked among the world's best whiskies by expert critics, and the distillery continues to receive international awards. In recent years, it has continued to gain prestige and improve its position in global whisky rankings.
