Amrut Peated Single Malt 70cl. Case
The Amrut distillery was founded in 1948 and began producing whiskey in the 1980s. The maturation process is considerably accelerated thanks to India's unique climate, with frigid winters and extremely hot summers. More than a third of the total liters evaporate, a significant amount compared to the average loss in Scotland of 3%. In blind tastings, whiskey experts have compared the quality of this single malt with that of Speyside whiskey

Description
PREPARATION
This Amrut single malt whiskey is made from smoked barley from Scotland, peated at 24 ppm, while the rest of the range is made from barley grown in the foothills of the Himalayas. Smoky, but with the pleasant sweetness of fruit and malt. It is a “non-chill filtered” whiskey that has not been treated with very low temperatures before bottling.
TASTING
View: Golden in appearance and very shiny.
Nose:
Very expressive aromatically, this Indian whiskey is very expressive and exotic. Smoked barley stands out as the protagonist along with salted butter and a touch of caramel. Spicy notes of black pepper are perceived.
Mouth:
Notes of malt and dry woods; with a delicate and elegant finish where smoky peat is in perfect balance with memories of bourbon, molasses and licorice.
