Description

PREPARATION

Grapes: 100% Tempranillo.

The grape used to make Balbás Ancestral red wine comes from Finca El Castillo, a unique vineyard located on a hillside where you can see different soils. This richness of the terroir provides personality to a complex, meditative wine, and shows that it is possible to combine tradition and modernity. The aging took place in large French oak barrels where it rested until reaching a total of 24 months of rest, completing its rounding with the same period of time in the bottle. The history of Bodegas Balbás goes back more than two hundred years in the Burgos town of La Horra. Today it is one of the great references in the Ribera del Duero Designation of Origin.

TASTING

View: Cherry red color.

Nose: Elegant aromatic fan in which the fruity contribution of ripe strawberry and raspberry is enhanced with aromas of clove and nutmeg, tea leaves, and some graphite. It has an elegant and soft wood touch.

Mouth: It is a deep, fresh and refined wine; with a long finish and velvety tannins. If there is something that stands out in this wine, it is undoubtedly the impeccable balance between each and every one of its components.
