PREPARATION

In the production of The Glenrothes Robur Reserve whiskey the combination of barrels used for its aging stands out; on the one hand, the barrels made with American oak, also known as Querbus Alba, which provide flavors of vanilla and coconut, and on the other hand, the Spanish oak barrels or Querbus Robur, previously cured with Sherry, which enhance its tannins and give a spicy and fruity touch to the distillate. The whiskey is made from malt harvested in the legendary Speyside region of northern Scotland. The Glenrothes is one of the few distilleries in Scotland to have its own water source for alcohol production, processing and reduction, right on the estate, a natural river dividing it in two. The liquor is carefully nurtured in the distillery's tall copper stills for much longer than is strictly necessary. Slow distillation provides a lighter and fruitier spirit, removing more impurities and allowing the production of a spirit with a more delicate flavor.

TASTING

View: Crystalline in appearance, a slightly pale golden color, but at the same time bright.

Nose: Aromas of sweet Oloroso sherry, pepper, berries, leather reminiscent of cloves and cedar wood.

Mouth: On the palate it is ripe and soft, where there is a pleasant sensation of sweet spices and dried fruits such as nutmeg, ripe plum juice, light touches of syrup and Caribbean rum. Sweet and persistent finish.
