Description
PREPARATION
The The Glenrothes Minister's Reserve whiskey matures for at least 21 years in Spanish oak barrels, resulting in a whiskey with great balance and a lot of character. The Glenrothes is one of the few distilleries in Scotland to have its own water source for alcohol production, processing and reduction, right on the estate, a natural river dividing it in two. The liquor is carefully nurtured in the distillery's tall copper stills for much longer than is strictly necessary. Slow distillation provides a lighter, fruitier spirit, removing more impurities and allowing the production of a more delicate tasting spirit. Most of The Glenrothes is matured in sherry-seasoned oak casks, which are carefully produced in Jerez, Spain. The color of this whiskey is derived only from its aging, never added as an afterthought. All The Glenrothes whiskey emerges from its barrels with an authentic color.
TASTING
View:
Pure and deep golden amber tone.
Nose:
Aromas of apple, resinous pine and citrus peels with notes of black currant. Vanilla and cinnamon. When water is added, other spice notes develop.
Mouth:
On the palate, this single malt aged in Spanish oak barrels is characterized by the virtuosity of its flavors. Its character body is made up of flavors of ground cedar, pepper wrapped in the sweetness of apple and vanilla. Light touches of nines and rose water.
