PREPARATION

Don Julio 1942 is made 100% from the blue agave plant and a consecrated distillation process. Every drop that rests inside a bottle of Don Julio tequila is born in the Altos de Jalisco, where the microclimate and the red clay soil, rich in minerals, allow the blue agave plant to flourish. They wait seven to ten years before each harvest, resulting in the smooth, yet mature flavor that Don Julio tequila is known for. The jimadores, generation after generation, have been not only experts in the art of harvesting agave, but also highly respected artisans in Mexico. They hand select and evenly cut the agave stalks to increase the quality of the juice. Once harvested, the pineapples are cut by hand into thirds or quarters. They are then slowly steamed in traditional clay ovens for three days to release the sweet juice of the agave. It is then aged for a minimum of two and a half years in white oak barrels at controlled temperatures and humidity levels.

TASTING

View: Bright color, with a golden hue.

Nose: Aroma of intense caramel and chocolate, with a touch of vanilla and memories of red fruits such as cherries.

Mouth: Warm, oak, vanilla and toasted agave flavor, soft and silky with an aftertaste of persistent oak and intense vanilla. Pleasant and long-lasting finish.
