PREPARATION

Bumbu The Original rum is based on a recipe that dates back to the 16th and 17th centuries, used by pirates and merchants. This modern interpretation takes sugar cane from eight Caribbean and South American countries before distilling it at the West Indies Rum Distillery in Barbados using exceptionally pure, underground water that is purified as it passes through natural limestone. The rum is distilled using two continuous stills. The yeast used during fermentation is a distillery secret that dates back to 1840, when some of its original iron stills were melted down. The rum is matured in antique bourbon barrels for up to fifteen years and blended with spices native to the Caribbean and pure Bajan water filtered through the island's coral rocks. No artificial flavors or colors are added.

TASTING

View: Intense amber color.

Nose: Rich and complex aromas of Madagascar vanilla, soft caramel and oak.

Mouth: Mature rum and natural spices provide rich complexity. Sweet and smooth, a big hit of vanilla is followed by notes of cinnamon, toasted walnuts, banana and allspice.
