Description
PREPARATION
Grapes: 100% Tempranillo Riojano.
The Ramón Bilbao Limited Edition red wine is made from a selection of 986 barrels through a selection of clusters and artisanal fermentation in wooden vats at a controlled temperature of 27-28ºC, using native yeasts. Aged for 15 months in new French oak barrels. Subsequently, aging is completed in the winery's own underground bottle rack for 10 months. The grapes used come from vineyards located between 450 and 700 meters above sea level in several towns near Haro, with low fertility soils, mainly sandy with low moisture retention. The 2018 harvest was an early vintage, with a cold and rainy winter, a cool spring and a warm summer. The precipitations of September and October helped the complete physiological and phenolic development of the clusters. The harvest had a production 10% above the average and began at the beginning of September.
TASTING
View: Intense ruby red color with garnet reflections. Clean and bright, with the presence of tears when turning the glass.
Nose: Clean, frank with very good intensity. Presence of fresh black fruit (black cherry, black plum). Balsamic aromas and aromatic herbs. Rich in spices, such as black pepper, cocoa and coffee notes.
Mouth: Long, intense and with balanced acidity. Presence of round and fine tannin. In retronasal it is reminiscent of the aromas recorded in the nose.
Recommended temperature: 16-17ºC.
