Pimm's Nº1 1L.

Pimm's Nº1 1L.

Pimm's Nº1 is a classic in England, particularly in the south. Made with a gin base, it is usually consumed as a syrup by diluting it, using 1/5 Pimm's to make lemonade, adding fresh fruits, citrus or cucumber pieces, but it can also be mixed with Champagne (or other sparkling white wines), resulting in a drink known as "Pimm's Royal Cup". This classic was made in 1823 by James Pimm and is one of the two staple drinks at the Wimbledon tennis tournament, the Chelsea Flower Show, the Henley Royal Regatta and the Glyndebourne Festival Opera.

Description

PREPARATION

Pimm's Nº1 is made from a gin infusion with a secret combination of botanical ingredients, fine spices and caramelized orange. It owes its name to the first time it was marketed, when James Pimm, the son of a Kent farmer, became the owner of an oyster bar in the City of London, near the Bank of England. He offered the tonic, a gin-based drink containing a secret blend of herbs and liqueurs as an aid to digestion, serving it in a small jug known as "Cup No. 1", hence its later name.

TASTING

View: Brown tone with reddish reflections.

Nose: It has a fairly fruity character, where citrus and red fruits stand out. In the background you can feel a soft spicy aroma, like a combination of cinnamon and licorice.

Mouth: Its entry is bittersweet and slightly herbal, with a touch of orange. On the palate, the spices stand out, giving it a pleasant bitter flavor. Persistent ending.
