Description
PREPARATION
The L'Original Combier Triple Sec liqueur is made with sweet and bitter oranges from Haiti, following a recipe that has remained intact since 1834, without added aromas. Making a triple sec the Combier way requires skilled labor, essential to maintaining its standards as Haute Couture House for Spirits. The dried sweet and bitter orange peels are rehydrated. The skin is grated by hand and each piece is fed through a peeler, where a blade separates the zest containing the essential oils (flavedo) from the fleshy white pith (albedo). The shells are macerated in a neutral alcohol for several days and then distilled and the distillates obtained are mixed with sugar, water and alcohol to obtain this excellent liquor.
TASTING
View: Clear as crystal.
Nose: Fragrant aromas of orange blossom, orange zest, bitter oranges, cooked lemons and faint notes of Brazil nut shells.
Mouth: Syrupy, dry flavor, spicy orange essence, notes of Lady Gray tea, then lavender and Parma violet. Finish with orange peel and a persistent note of icing sugar.
