PREPARATION
Knockando 12 Years Old is a particularly delicate, fruity and subtle Speyside: soft but complex layers of floral, nutty and lightly smoky notes. The amount of peat used in malting the barley is carefully controlled so as not to unbalance the flavor of the final product, and the proportion of sherry casks used is restricted so as not to overpower the flavor of the whiskey. Time is another key element, as gentle maturation in oak barrels slowly reveals subtle aromas: delicate with a distinctive note of fresh almond in its younger versions, it gains weight and depth of flavor over the years. Although distillation continues year-round, at Knockando Distillery each year of production is still referred to as a season. In each bottle you will only find the product of a single season, a practice that continues to distinguish Knockando™ from almost all other single malt whiskeys. Thus, when the young spirit is taken to the warehouse, the distillation season is marked on the end of the barrel. And when it is ready to be bottled, it is duly inscribed on the bottle and gift box along with the year of bottling. Coloring is never added, which is why the depth of color in successive bottlings sometimes varies.
TASTING

Nose: Light smoky aroma.
Mouth:
On the palate it is a delicate, fruity, sharp whiskey with exquisite almond notes, with a soft and light body, it has a subtle creamy and smooth finish, which becomes dry.
