Released in 2013, Highland Park Harald Whiskey is part of The Warrior Series, a collection of single malts created to both showcase a key figure in Orkney's Viking history and demonstrate the impact of cask type on the flavor of this whisky, which is immense. Awards and recognitions:

Description
PREPARATION
Highland Park Harald is brewed using traditional methods at one of the few distilleries that still carefully rotates its malt by hand, every 8 hours, seven days a week, to maintain a constant airflow and the exact humidity (5%) to fully absorb the intense aromatic smoke produced by the Hobbister Moor peat. The whiskey is distilled in 4 traditional stills with windows, which allows them to observe the process and maintain complete control over it. The American oak casks used to mature the whiskey are sent to Jerez, Spain, where they are filled with the delicious spirit and left to mature for 2 years, before being emptied and returned to Orkney to be filled with whiskey, so Harald matures in a combination of Sherry-seasoned American oak and European oak casks. Newly blended whiskey rests for at least 1 month before bottling. During this period, the flavors of the different barrels combine and harmonize, achieving a complex but finely balanced whiskey.

Dark, light and shiny gold color.
Nose:
Aroma of ginger root, sandalwood, sponge cake and peat smoke.
Mouth:
Complex yet finely balanced, with an intense flavor brimming with heady ginger, sandalwood, sweet sponge cake and hints of freshly grated nutmeg.
