Highland Park 12 Years Old Viking Honor 70cl.

PREPARATION

Highland Park single malt whiskey has been aged in Spanish wooden sherry barrels (the most precious) for a period of 12 years or more. Made with homegrown barley malted with peat and delicately smoky but surprisingly sweet, achieving the ideal balance that the Orkney distillery has accustomed us to.

It has a soft bronze color.  

Nose:

Notes of warm hay, citrus peel, white grape, orange blossom and rose give an immediate impression of a late summer garden. The aroma of peat is very mild, expressing itself mainly as a kind of earthy saltiness, like a flowerbed in full bloom after being fertilized with seaweed.  

Mouth:

Initially dominated by very fresh and crisp grain notes, with a continuation of orange zest and hay coming from the nose. Sweet marzipan in the center of the palate, accompanied by a subtle and delicious salinity. The finish is long without being overpowering, and delivers a welcome slight bitter tone to anchor in that sherry sweetness and subtle peat notes.
