It is one of six specially created Uitvlugt Special Cask Finish rums in a strictly limited edition, distilled in 2006 in the original French 4-column Savalle metal still.
This ancient still is an 18th century relic of the Uitvlugt Sugar Estate, located on the west coast of the Demerara region of Guyana. And so, the estate in question became the namesake of the El Dorado Uitvlugt rum series.

Description
PREPARATION
This great rum, produced by the world famous Demerara Distillers, matured for a total of 15 long years on the Guyana diamond plantation. Until its bottling in 2021, with a total concentration of 56.1% in barrel, it first matured for 7 years in ex-bourbon American oak barrels and then another 8 to refine, in the so-called "double aging" process, in French oak. barrels that previously stored dry Madeira wines and come from a single winery on the island of Madeira.TASTING

Nose: Aromas of sugared almonds, bananas and white chocolate on the nose, giving rise to notes of vanilla, cloves and cinnamon.
Mouth:
It offers a flavor of polished wood and tropical fruits with a long, monotonous finish. The sweetness of Madeira is somewhat dominant and obscures the traditional Demerara flavor. A good and robust rum, despite its unbalanced profile.
