Description
PREPARATION
The Dalmore 12 Years matures for an initial period of nine years in American white oak barrels which had previously contained bourbon. After that period of years, the liquid is divided. 50% continues its maturation in the same barrels and the other half is transferred to barrels that have previously contained Matusalem Oloroso Jerez, 30 years old. Its maturation process continues in this way for three more years, before being blended again and bottled. The Dalmore house style derives from a close and trusting relationship that was forged with the house of Jerez González Byass more than 100 years ago. The rare casks, which have previously held 30-year-old Matusalem Oloroso Sherry, are exclusive to The Dalmore and enrich the distinctive chocolate and orange character of their whiskeys with rich, nutty flavours.
TASTING
View: Golden mahogany color.
Nose: Aromas of citrus, mixed with chocolate and touches of aromatic spices.
Mouth: Rich and elegant, with concentrated citrus notes of Seville oranges, mixed with dried fruits and hints of vanilla. The aftertaste presents hints of dark chocolate and roasted coffee.
