Cuesta de las Liebres 2018 is a red wine made by the Pago de Carraovejas winery in Peñafiel, D.O. Ribera del Duero. It defines the virtues of this steep slope and the extreme viticulture it develops. Description
PREPARATION
Grapes: 100% Tinto Fino.
To make the wine Cuesta de las Liebres 2018, after a first selection in the vineyard, the manual harvest is carried out and the grapes are transported in small boxes to the winery, where they pass through a cold chamber and selection table. The must moved by gravity and the alcoholic and malolactic fermentations took place in small wooden vats. To mark the personality of the terroir, yeasts native to the estate were used during this process. The wine remained for 24 months in new extra-fine grain French oak barrels. The 2018 vintage was bottled in spring 2021.
TASTING
View:
Intense garnet color, with ruby reflections.
Nose:
Complex on the nose with aromas of ripe black fruit, sweet spices, aromatic woods, toasted notes.
Mouth:
Dense, tasty, enveloping, lively, with sensations of ripe fruit, plum-like, balsamic. Great structure and very long. Recommended temperature: Serve at 16ºC.
