The Château Le Virou estate measures over 100 hectares, making it the largest walled winery in Europe. Its history begins in the 17th century, a time when the farm was one of the two great relays of silence of the Order of the Discalced Carmelites. Called “Saint Désert du Virou”, this place of worship and prayer welcomes monks who come from all over France to meditate in the greatest silence. For almost two centuries, these monks built the monastery and developed numerous underground passages that linked Le Virou with strategic points in the region. Le Secret 2019 is perfect to accompany beef stews and any game meat.

PREPARATION
Grapes: 80% Merlot, 20% Cabernet Franc
Le Secret is a unique wine, made with grapes from old vines (25-30 years old) grown on a single plot of Le Secret. The Merlot and Cabernet Franc composition was traditionally vinified in cement vats, where it was then aged for 12 months. Traditional vinification at low temperature in stainless steel tanks. Aqueous phase extraction for fine and elegant tannins. Post-fermentation hot maceration. Malolactic fermentation in stainless steel tanks.
TASTING
View:
Deep garnet red color.
Nose:
It has a beautifully preserved fruit character. Clean and pure aromatic expression.
Mouth:
Juicy, very elegant and refined. Soft tannins and a perfect balance with notes of ripe red fruits that lead to a long and fruity finish. Recommended temperature: 16-17°C.
