Amer Picon Biére 1L.
Amer Picon Bière is a French bitter orange liqueur, which is mixed with pilsner or wheat beer to create a powerful aperitif. In the beginning this liquor was used as a tonic for the stomach and to whet the appetite, however, when it began to be marketed in France, its success was overwhelming, even creating this new new mixture with beer, to obtain a more bitter point.

Description
PREPARATION
Amer Picon Bière is made from wine and the distillate of bitter orange peels, gentian root, quinine, spices and some essences of plants native to Algeria, which is mixed with pilsner or wheat beer. Amer means “bitter” in French. Gaétan Picon, born in 1809, was a scholar who apprenticed at the distilleries of Aix-en-Provence, Toulon and Marseille. In 1837, after taking a trip to Algeria where he had been in the French army, he invented Picon and the first distillery to produce African bitters in an Algerian village. He then went on to open a series of distilleries in Constantine, Bône and Algiers. In 1862, it was crowned with a bronze medal in the bitter aperitif category at the World's Fair in London. In 1872, Gaétan Picon returned to France and created the first factory for Picon production in Marseille, which is still in use today.
