PREPARATION
The secret behind the taste of Whyte & Mackay 13 Yearsis its triple maturation process and the way it is blended, ensuring that no whiskey overpowers the other, creating a harmony of flavors that work together to produce a smoother, richer flavour. The story begins with the choice of 35 single malts and six grain whiskeys from two of Scotland's most famous distilling regions: Highland and Speyside. The single malt whiskey is then carefully aged while separately aging the grain whiskey for 12 years. The single malts are then blended to age together in Sherry barrels for six months and, finally, the grain whiskeys are blended with the malts to age together for six more months until perfection is reached. This triple maturation process produces a whiskey rich in color with golden reflections, round and full on the nose with smooth, rich flavors of honey and fruit.
