Description
PREPARATION
Talisker has been produced since 1830 in the only distillery on the Isle of Skye, located in an enclave on the seashore that gives it a marked marine character. Talisker 10 Year Old Single Malt Whiskey is an intense and complex whiskey, with a sea salt nose, peat aroma, smoky character and spicy pepper finish. It intensely evokes the rough, wind-stroked beauty of its place of origin. It is distilled twice to achieve a deep, intense character, imbued with the characteristic marine notes of a coastal whiskey. The single malt whiskey has a renowned intense smoky peat flavor and a warm finish with hints of pepper on the palate.
TASTING
View: Golden color with amber tones.
Nose: It opens with a deep touch of sea breeze, followed by pleasant citrus notes of lemon, orange and spices: cloves, cinnamon and black pepper. The smokiness is light but not absent: it powerfully accompanies the essence of the Talisker malt, never dominates it and in fact mixes well with the other notes.
Mouth: Spicy opening, with lots of black pepper and cloves, a touch of cinnamon and then, intoxicated by the depth of the ocean with a pleasant and never dominant salty note. The smoke is accentuated, with beautiful notes of pure tobacco but also, sometimes, of pipe. There are still citrus fruits that evolve on the hot and dense substrate composed of malt. Long and comforting finish, with light smoke, salt, black pepper and seaweed, with a small explosion of citrus notes.
