Old Pulteney 15 Years 70cl. - Case
Old Pulteney 15 Years is Old Pulteney's most balanced and smooth single malt whiskey. Balancing two different sides of the flavor spectrum, this single malt blends them perfectly, while reflecting its coastal origins and unwavering influence. On the one hand, spice and sweetness come together in this naturally rich amber whiskey to celebrate the rich flavors, but the lighter, more refreshing coastal notes show another side of this single malt in an intense, yet balanced way. Description
PREPARATION
The Old Pulteney 15 Year Old Whiskey is made in the traditional way with malt from the main suppliers in the United Kingdom, which once ground and crushed is fermented in the 7 stainless steel laundries that the distillery has to later distill it in its stills of unusual shape, with particularly large boiling balls, which create a more fragrant whiskey character. Its maturation process takes place for 15 years in ex-Bourbon American oak and ex-Sherry Spanish oak barrels.
Throughout the Pulteney Distillery's long and eventful history, the quality of its whiskey and the process by which it is made remains a source of pride. The traditional craftsmanship displayed when the distillery first opened its doors in 1826 is what continues to characterize Old Pulteney Single Malt Scotch Whiskey almost two centuries later.
TASTING
View:
Amber color.
Nose:
Intense but balanced. Full of rich nuts, ripe apples and citrus, with honey sweetness and a generous creamy vanilla accord. Slightly chocolatey and floral in the background.
Mouth:
Fragrant spices and Christmas cake, with layers of chocolate and a distinctive dark toffee sweetness. There's a touch of salty sea air on the finish, a clear connection to the influence of the sea in this single malt.
