Description
PREPARATION
The The Glenrothes 25 Years Whiskey is predominantly aged in first-fill sherry-seasoned oak barrels and bottled in its natural color. The Glenrothes is one of the few distilleries in Scotland to have its own water source for alcohol production, processing and reduction, right on the estate, a natural river dividing it in two. The liquor is carefully nurtured in the distillery's tall copper stills for much longer than is strictly necessary. Slow distillation provides a lighter, fruitier spirit, removing more impurities and allowing the production of a more delicate tasting spirit. Most of The Glenrothes is matured in sherry-seasoned oak casks, which are carefully produced in Jerez, Spain. The color of this whiskey is derived only from its aging, never added as an afterthought. All The Glenrothes whiskey emerges from its barrels with an authentic color.
TASTING
View:
Deep amber color.
Nose:
Aromas of tropical fruits, such as mango and pineapple, with notes of cedar wood.
Mouth:
Pleasant mid palate, flavors of coriander seeds, violets and hints of salted caramel. Sweet and long-lasting finish, with floral and citrus notes.
