Description
PREPARATION
José Cuervo Reserva de Familia Extra Añejo is made by mixing the best aged tequilas more than 30 years old from the family's private reserves, obtained with a base of 100% blue agave between 10 and 12 years old, grown at their optimal point of maturation and hand-selected in a town in Jalisco (Mexico) called Tequila, of these agaves, only the inner part of the plant is used, the heart (pineapple), which is the one with the highest quality and the most tender area. It is aged for a minimum period of 3 years in French and American oak barrels, in the basements of La Rojeña in Tequila. The story of José Cuervo begins in 1758, the year the King of Spain granted José Maria Guadalupe de Cuervo a plot of land in Jalisco, in order to cultivate and harvest the blue agave plant. This unique event marked the birth of tequila. The company remains family owned after more than 250 years, and is currently run by the 10th generation of the Cuervo family.
