PREPARATION

Brugal Extra Viejo is aged in selected American oak barrels. At the heart of Brugal's production is its family recipe, a jealously guarded secret, known only to a privileged few and passed down from generation to generation. Its rum is distilled not once or twice, but infinitely, which is why Brugal is always the cleanest and purest liquor. The barrels used to mature their rums are hand-selected by the master rum makers according to the correct type of character, age and provenance, and only the best oak barrels are used, from ex-American bourbon to ex-European sherry. All their rums mature for a minimum of two years in their wineries located from north to south to make the most of the Dominican sun from morning to night, thus intensifying the aging process.

TASTING

View: Penetrating and intense amber color, crystalline and brilliant.

Nose: Its aroma is a symphony of beautiful natural touches: wood, nuts, almonds, cocoa, vanilla, orange peel, caramel and molasses.

Mouth: Elegant flavor that begins with hints of vanilla, caramel and honey, followed by sweet spices and delicious cocoa. It is persistent in the mouth with a spicy finish. A cold sensation that contrasts with the warmer touches of the first sip.
