PRODUCTION

Monkey 47 is crafted following a recipe by diplomat Montgomery Collins, a recipe that powerfully blends British traditions, the exoticism of India, the purity and pristine nature of the Black Forest, and a unique blend of 47 botanicals. Fresh blueberries and native Black Forest herbs stand out, along with the exotic flavors of Asian ingredients. This gin is created through a unique process involving three distillations of barley and rye with water and the addition of 47 botanicals. These botanicals, including juniper, are macerated in French alcohol for 36 hours before distillation begins, and the gin is aged in traditional clay vessels for a minimum of three months.

TASTING

Appearance: Bright and clear.

Nose: Exotic and complex aromas with notes of blueberries and fresh currants and a mentholated and balsamic background.

Palate: Flavorful and complex with notes of angelica root and iris, with a long, persistent, herbaceous finish. A touch of bitterness, but well integrated, and hints of dried fruit.
