The The Macallan Double Cask 12 Years Whiskey is made in the traditional Scottish way in small copper stills. The perfect association of American and European oak casks seasoned with Oloroso Sherry creates the welcoming and distinctive character of this harmonious single malt, allowing the delicate and indulgent flavors of the American oak to take center stage, while the more traditional Macallan characteristics, such as intense fruits, sherry and wood-borne spices, provide a comfortingly familiar background. Once refilled, the spirit ages undisturbed in the same barrels for the years necessary for it to be worthy of the Macallan expression for which it is intended. Oak barrels contribute the most to achieving the quality, natural color and characteristic aromas and flavors found in the essence of a The Macallan single malt.
Tasting notes
View: Amber color with golden sparkles.
Nose: Aromas of creamy caramel with a touch of toffee apple, candied orange, vanilla custard and freshly felled oak.
Mouth: Deliciously honeyed, with notes of wood spices and citrus, balanced with raisins and caramel. The oak lingers on the finish, it is warm, sweet and dry.
