The complexity of the final recipe for Galliano L'Autentico is a secret kept to this day. It is made from a balanced blend of Mediterranean and exotic botanicals, including juniper berries, caraway seeds, cardamom, sandalwood, star anise, cinnamon, sage, thyme, mint, lavender and Madagascar vanilla. And it is created using multiple macerations and distillations. Galliano traces its roots back to 1896, when Arturo Vaccari first brewed the iconic liqueur in Tuscany. The liqueur was originally created to celebrate the exploits of an Italian army commander, but gained international fame in the 1970s as a key ingredient in the Harvey Wallbanger cocktail. Galliano owes its extraordinary flavor to a complex and unique process that involves seven infusions and distillations of 30 meticulously selected herbs and spices, such as Mediterranean anise, juniper, lavender, mint and vanilla.
