PREPARATION
The GlenAllachie 18 Years is made from Scottish barley, through a 160-hour fermentation and slow distillation. Working across the 16 cellars with barrels dating back to the 1970s, Master Distiller Billy Walker selected a limited number of barrels which were released as GlenAllachie 18 Years. One of Scotland's few independently owned and managed distilleries, The GlenAllachie is run by industry veteran Billy Walker, who has almost 50 years' experience in whisky. Located at the foot of Ben Rinnes, the distillery is in the heart of Speyside, with a focus on quality over quantity. Their passionate team, spanning 16 on-site warehouses with over 50,000 barrels, has complete control of the maturation process from end to end.
TASTING
View: Intense brown color.
Nose: Aromas of heather honey, toffee and muscovado sugar, with dark chocolate, caramel and dried raisins.
Mouth: Flavor bursting with fruitcake, caramel and wild Scottish honey, followed by layers of blackcurrant, almonds and soft oak spices on the finish.
