PREPARATION

The anCnoc 18 Year Old Whiskey is made using traditional production methods that have been maintained for more than 100 years at the Knockdhu distillery, using water from its own springs and original style stills and copper worms to condense the vaporized alcohol. Ironically, it is these traditional techniques that help create the distinctive, modern flavor. This whiskey is aged for 18 years in ex-Sherry Spanish oak barrels and ex-bourbon American oak barrels. The barrels rest quietly in storage warehouses with thick granite walls that create a stable temperature. It is bottled in its most natural form, neither cold filtered nor colored. As a result, this drink may develop a slight haze with the addition of water or if kept at a cold temperature, a natural characteristic of whiskey that is not chill-filtered.

Nose:
Mild spices and intense sweetness from dried fruits are topped with chocolate, ripe oranges and oiled leather.

Mouth:
Full-bodied and bold, aromatic spices, fruit bread and candied lemon are followed by a wave of vanilla, honey and caramel. The finish transforms from spicy and warm to deliciously sweet and smooth.
