Description
PREPARATION
Grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. The production process of Alfred Gratien Brut Millésimé 2007 begins with a rigorous selection of the grapes, vinification and aging in small 228-liter oak barrels according to tradition, without malolactic fermentation to respect the nature of the grape and the personality of the terroir. The aging of vintages is carried out for at least 10 years under stapled corks. The permeability and flexibility of cork favor the micro-contributions of oxygen necessary for its aging.
TASTING
View:
At first glance it contains a fairly intense golden color with an extremely fine effervescence.
Nose:
The first nose is expressed with authority on notes of baguette bread and toasted almond, candied orange and cooked pear, embellished with a touch of nougat. Later, we perceive deeper notes of spices and mushrooms. The expression is complex and accomplished.
Mouth: On the palate it is soft and lively. The wine is full-bodied and lively and little by little the effervescence becomes creamier. Frank acidity and chalky minerality highlight a silky and slightly warm texture. The whole is expressed in harmony. The finish is fresh, lemony, slightly mineral and quite long. It fades away leaving the memory of a pleasant acid-sugar balance, a creamy sensation and a hint of effervescence.
