Description

PREPARATION

Grapes: 89% Tempranillo and 11% Graciano.

Viña Ardanza Reserva 2012 is made from Tempranillo (78%) from the La Cuesta and Montecillo estates, 30 years old, in Fuenmayor and Cenicero, the Garnacha comes from La Pedriza in Tudelilla (Rioja Baja). This farm has unbeatable conditions for the cultivation of this variety with very poor soil, covered with pebbles, which offers a grape of great typicity, very rich in aromas and pleasant, fine structure. The harvest began in mid-October. The grapes were picked by hand and transported in refrigerated trucks to the winery. The alcoholic fermentation took place naturally. Malolactic fermentation concluded at the end of the year. In March 2013, the selected wines were put into barrels, beginning their aging separately: the Tempranillo for 36 months in American oak barrels with an average age of 4 years and the Garnacha for 30 months. The final blend was bottled in March 2016.
