Description
PREPARATION
Grapes: 80% Tempranillo, 20% Red Garnacha
Viña Ardanza Reserva is made with Tempranillo from vines over 30 years old from the La Cuesta and Montecillo estates, in Fuenmayor and Cenicero. The Grenache comes from La Pedriza in Tudelilla (Rioja Oriental), a farm with optimal conditions for this grape, with very poor soil covered with pebbles that offers a Grenache that is very rich in aromas and fine structure. The 2016 vintage was characterized by producing wines with a great balance between acidity and alcohol level, high intensity and aromatic quality and excellent maturity of the tannins, which translates into softness in the mouth. The harvest was manual and, in the winery, the bunches passed through the optical selection tables, where only grapes with perfect ripening are chosen. After fermentation, the wines were aged separately: the Tempranillo for 36 months in 4-year-old American oak, and the Garnacha for 30 months in 2 and 3 wine barrels.
TASTING
View:
Intense garnet red color, with a clean edge.
Nose:
It stands out for its great aromatic intensity, with spicy and balsamic notes of licorice, cloves, nutmeg and black pepper, enveloping a subtle memory of ripe red fruits: liqueur cherry and raspberry jam.
Mouth:
Its palate is very balanced, fresh, with a wide range of flavors and soft, round tannins, which give way to a spicy and balsamic final aftertaste. A Viña Ardanza in its fullness and with a long life ahead
