PREPARATION
Created in September 2015, Suntory Chita single grain whiskey is completely different from the usual grain whiskeys used in blended whiskey. Made through a rare continuous distillation process using two, three or four columns, Chita Distillery primarily creates three types of grain whiskey: clean, medium and heavy. To provide it with more complexity and a more intense flavor, Shinji Fukuyo decided to age the Chita single grain whiskey in wine barrels, made from Spanish oak and American white oak. The result is a lighter, smoother grain whiskey with incomparable sophistication and a clean, clear finish. With their versatile flavors and exquisite balance, Chita grain whiskeys have traditionally been used as the dashi or broth that enhances the harmony of Suntory blends. Through continuous research and innovation, Chita grain whiskeys have achieved unmatched sophistication and a level of complexity that allows them to finally become the protagonists.
TASTING
View: Bright gold color.
Nose: Aromas of crème brûlée, cardamom, acacia honey and flowering rose.
Mouth: Light and smooth, with a touch of mint, and a slight dark honey flavor with a clean and clear finish.
