Description
PREPARATION
The Balvenie Double Wood whiskey has spent at least 12 years in traditional whiskey casks, American bourbon oak casks, and then moved to old Spanish sherry casks for another nine months. The whiskey is then transferred to large oak barrels called vats for 3-4 months to allow the whiskeys from the individual barrels to pair together. At The Balvenie they remain faithful to artisanal production, making whiskey as they always have. Their artisans have a deep knowledge of their materials and a desire to make the best whiskey possible. Their process is a combination of experience, skill and ambition that gives The Balvenie its unique character.

Nose:
Notes of sweet fruit and sherry Oloroso, with honey and vanilla.
Mouth:
Notes of sweet honey, complemented by the flavor acquired during the double maturation process. Long and warm finish.
