PREPARATION
Barceló Imperial Onyx rum is the result of the finest selection of rums aged for up to a decade in highly toasted American white oak barrels, carefully selected by expert master coopers. It is then filtered through authentic Onyx stones to obtain a rum with intense, deep notes and a unique character. Barceló rum had its origin in 1929, when Julián Barceló arrived in the Dominican Republic with the purpose of making a rum that will go down in history as the best in the world, and it was just a year later, in 1930, when he founded Barceló & Co. In 2016 Ron Barceló becomes the first rum in the world certified as Carbon Neutral, the first distillate and rum in the world to be part of the UN Climate Change initiative, Climate Neutral Now.
