Description
PREPARATION
Angostura 1919 was born after a fire in 1932 that destroyed the Government Rum Bonus, the master blender of Fernandes Distillers, JB Fernandes, bought the charred barrels, discovered that they had been filled in the year 1919. The precious rum was skillfully mixed and called "1919 Aged Rum". Angostura is one of the leading rum producers in the Caribbean, as well as holding the Royal Warrant of Her Royal Highness Queen Elizabeth II. Its history dates back to 1824, when Dr. Siegert perfected his formula of aromatic bitters to use in his medical practice as Surgeon General of the armies of Simón Bolívar and chose for his brand the name of the city where he resided in Venezuela, Angostura, this town is now called Ciudad Bolívar.
TASTING
View: Golden, amber color with excellent clarity.
Nose: It exudes a complex bouquet brimming with aromas of cocoa, honey, caramel and vanilla.
Mouth: It is very smooth and well rounded without an iota of hardness or harshness. In a few moments it opens, revealing a generous and long-lasting range of roasted flavors. The finish is warm and very relaxing.
