Description

PREPARATION

Grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir.

The maturity of this 2013 Champagne, the 75th Grand Vintage in the House's history, is immediately evident. Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage 2013is an unexpectedly complementary expression of a year well known for its Chardonnays. This champagne contains Chardonnay and Pinot Noir in almost identical parts, enhanced by Meunier's suggestions. After 7 years in the cellar, it reveals a truly unique character. The Moët & Chandon Grand Vintage, unlike most Champagnes, are only made in exceptional vintages and only with grapes from that year. Each Grand Vintage is unique. Each possesses the characteristic and inimitable qualities of the extraordinary grapes of that vintage, qualities that have been elevated to their highest expression through the savoir-faire, experience and knowledge of Moët & Chandon and the Maison's Chef de Cave.

TASTING

View: Light golden color with fine and persistent bubbles.

Nose: The ripeness of this Champagne is immediately evident, with autumnal notes of toasted chestnuts, toasted buckwheat, dried fruits, honey and nougat. Next you can see the white fruit, reminiscent of a beautiful ripe apple or pear. Aromas of iodine, dried flowers and pine sap complete the bouquet.

Mouth: Lively and well defined palate. It is direct and energetic in the mouth, supported by a lively but delicate acidity and a finely marked structure, and enveloped by a grainy and refined texture. The wine ends with a pleasant bitter touch of white grapefruit.
