PREPARATION

The American liquor Southern Comfort is made from rectified alcohol with fruits, spices and whiskey flavors. The brand was created in 1874 by New Orleans bartender Martin Wilkes Heron and since 2016 it has been owned by the Sazerac Company, having previously been produced by the Brown-Forman Corporation. Although the original drink contained whiskey, the current formula only contains flavorings, except for the Premium version, called "Special Reserve."

TASTING

View: Color between amber and brown.

Nose: Punch aroma. The predominant notes are citrus lime and fruity notes reminiscent of fruits such as apricot or peach along with more spicy notes that convey cola candies.

Mouth: Although the notes are eminently sweet, it is not cloying in the mouth since the point of sweetness is low and the contrast of the alcohol and the citrus notes that predominate is balanced. The finish is medium and leaves a pleasant memory of cola candy.
