Description
PREPARATION
Distillation is carried out in traditional copper stills. The whiskey is aged in standard bourbon barrels and transferred to small barrels, allowing this spirit to increase its contact with the wood by 30%. It then rests in the distillery's cellars, on the shores of the Atlantic. This process recovers a Laphroaig tradition that was disappearing: the use of smaller barrels, where the whiskey, thanks to greater contact with the oak, acquires a velvety texture in perfect harmony with the characteristic peat flavor.
TASTING
View: Matte gold color.
Nose:
Fine and clean, intensely smoky, medicinal, aromas of sea, salt and iodine. Creamy and orange notes embellish the pleasant aromas of the whiskey.
Mouth:
Soft start, then the aromas of malt and spices are released, smoky, salty, creamy, fruity (orange) with a wonderful and complex aftertaste where the orange aroma gives way to a slight bitterness with notes of nuts and coffee beans.
