PREPARATION
The Knockando 15 Years Richly Matured Whiskey matures for 15 years in barrels that have contained Sherry and Bourbon. Only natural ingredients are used for its production, which combine with yeast, crystal clear water from the Cardnach spring and malted barley to form a light and acidic taste, which is very delicious to drink. Its ingredients and its production process give rise to a smooth whiskey, with a distinctive almond note that evolves according to the number of years of aging. Built by John Thompson in 1898, Knockando Distillery proudly overlooks the River Spey in the village of the same name. Derived from the Gaelic "Cnoc-an-dhu", meaning "little black hill", the distillery was founded during the Victorian whiskey boom in 1898, but faced unreliable distributors: it closed in 1899 after just one year of production. W & Gilbey soon took over, marking a change of fortune for the distillery and for whiskey lovers everywhere.
TASTING

Nose: On the nose it is intense and expressive. Aromas of baked fruit that mix with sweet notes of nutmeg, cinnamon, touches of sherry and dark chocolate.
Mouth: Silky and intense. With fruity notes of baked apples, complemented by raisins and warm woody and sherry touches. Long finish, with touches of sweet spices and wood.
