Description
PREPARATION
In 2008, Alexander Gabriel began producing wood-aged Citadelle Réservegin. With it, Maison Ferrand celebrated the rebirth of barrel-aged gins. After several years of experimentation, Gabriel perfected his recipe by adding 3 natural extracts: yuzu, mugwort and cornflower and letting the gin rest in five different types of wooden barrels: acacia, mulberry, cherry, chestnut and French oak, for five months. After five months, the gin is combined and refined in an ovoid-shaped oak barrel 2.45 meters high. The egg shape of the wooden vat creates a natural convection that facilitates a harmonious and delicate integration. Cognac Ferrand is the only French distiller to use this cutting-edge technique, following the principles and innovative spirit of Alexandre Gabriel and Maison Ferrand. This unique aging method intensifies the citrus notes of Citadelle Réserve gin and creates an elegant smoothness on the palate.
